The Final Fly-Past

After the burial service for our Dad was finished, and my brothers had lowered the oaken urn that we had created, and with my sister we had sung a final song and were re-covering the grave, a pair of Canada Geese did a low diagonal fly-by about 12 feet over our heads.

For a pilot who loved Canada geese, and especially for the two of his four kids whose dreams of aviation inspired us to become pilots as well...if there had been any doubt among us that the Universe works on a lot of levels, there was none then.

sixes and sevens

Cucumbers are apparently good for getting out a loose tooth.
Fiona had one that had been wigglie since January
and it finally popped out at dinner last night.
as usual, the tooth fairy brought chocolate coins, and some real ones.
Fiona missed her again - that tooth fairy can be quick!.
She and I discussed the wardrobe of the tooth fairy last night
apparently all dresses and wands!

Dad, Grandpa

W. Lorne Bradt, our loved and loving father passed away early this morning. We are very sad.
This picture is from a week ago when Chloe and Simon went out for a visit. He was very happy.

How they cut down snow banks

And for those who have never seen it, this is how they remove the huge snow banks from the side of city streets. There is a lineup of dump trucks waiting behind to take the next load.
Et pour ceux qui n'ont jamais vu ça, voilà comment on enlève les tas de neige accumulés au bord des rues en ville. Il y a une file continue de camions attendant de recevoir la prochaine charge.
