Letter to Santa
Simon gets his (and Chloe's) letter to Santa on it's way
. I told the kids we were going out to send the letter to Santa. After Simon put it in the mail box and we turned around to walk home, Chloe was upset. She thought we were going to the North Pole to deliver it ourselves! (I guess it would be ok with Mom, as long as we get home for dinner...)

Olympic Flame Comes to Toronto
Simon, Chloe and the parents went to welcome the Olympic Flame to Toronto. It was cold,
but there were lots of folk
s out to capture the moment.
The
pass-over took place right around the corner,
so it was nice to walk over.
Lots of people helping out along the way!
Not sure who the two carriers were, but
I'm sure someone will let us know.
Simon got a flag too, and we think he
might be on CTV tonight, but maybe
only on the live broadcast.
Another historic occasion......

other updates
Pam's surgery delayed (surgeon had an emergency come up) until further notice.
Nexicom tied up in legal holds so no high speed till January
I'm FIRST on the test case list when the go live though
Fiona's xmas play was great - going back for night show in a couple hours
Drywalling on lower level done. painting as soon as tomorrow comes - too tired tonight.
Hope tree can go up on Sunday or sooner.
Moppets wrapping up nicely this week. New faces and a good crowd for the pot luck feast.
Don't think my 7 and three quarter year old can get much more excited about Christmas and all, but we'll see.

The first Woolley (and bradt by default) to hold one

WEll, it was a FREEZING day in Lakefield
we were up and out before 7 am to see the Olympic Torch come through our area.
IT had a sunrise start in Peterborough (and I happen to know that runner)
and then up to Lakefield.
WE got there early and Fiona and I went onto the bus where the torch bearers waited for the flame to arrive.
So, she got all their autographs on a Coke Torch banner we had gotten the day before to wave and cheer on the procession.
THE best part was that SHE got to hold the torch!
so, it wasn't lit but still very neat to have happen.
and we could very easily photoshop in a flame, but we won't... yet
we cheered them all on and saw the initial lighting as the sun brightened the day.
from the wee lantern to the flame held high, it was very cool
literally
and then it blew out in the wind
and then they lit it again.
all in a fun winter's morning.
PS: when seeing the torch in your town, watch on the route for round stickers on the telephone poles about 4 inches across with numbers on them that , that is the flame transfer point from one runner to the next.
it's more interesting to see the flame get passed than watch someone you don't know run by.
PLUS if you can see the mini bus, and get there early enough, perhaps YOU TOO can hold the torch.
see if all the kids can do so! I double dog dare you.
enjoy!

The treek rises in Calgary
We got the tree up, and once it stopped being a -35 degree tree, the branches came down, and we got it decorated. Check out the montage below:Passing the Test
Natalie took her first TaeKwon-Do test today, and has been promoted to a Yellow Stripe.
See pix of her new level!
Natalie receives a handshake after getting her stripe from Mr Moretti, the club's 6th Dan, and head instructor.
Natalie tested with Nikki and Damian, as well as two others who left before I could get their pictures.

now I can find the receipts for the energy RE-audit in time for tomorrow
AND
our "dining room" is now our temporary living room as we swap to get the final drywall and painting done on that room.
tree MAY be up by the weekend yet!!!!
