This was my and David M's first visit to the Air Force Memorial. He had driven me back to DC from Toronto on Tuesday the 21st and arranged to stay a couple of days...and I arranged to take a couple of days off to enjoy two frankly gorgeous fall days and the pleasure of his company.Here, we're looking at the engraving in the black granite memorial as it reflects back at us.
Again, see a few more pix of this graciously-designed memorial in the title link. I love the curves of the three spires, which represent three aircraft flying the "Missing Man" formation, after the fourth aircraft has left the group, that is flown at the final service for a fallen comrade .
