busy week
it's VBS week almost at a close
my toothache is still acting up
but I'm coping
one more day and we can enjoy some family time without a plan in sight.
its been better than ever in some ways, and challenges in others.
fiona has had a ball!
Glenn was site manager and kept the behind-the-scenes running smoothly
we had 105 kids and 45 adults volunteering over the week
another great year

Practically a restaurant standard, most people don't realize that these lyrics, to the tune of "Thw William Tell Overture", were written by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera for the episode titled "The Hot Piano".

another day at woolley wondercamp
today started with cereal with the kids (doesn't everything wrap around food anyway)
Fiona headed off to Hope Valley Day camp. then to shop for groceries and fresh supper veg, A few attempts as skyping the parental units worked ok. Then - you guessed it! Time to make lunch.
HAY was due to arrive but not till the afternoon so we scooched over to the hickeys for an hour or so at the beach.
Chloe wanted to nap at home so Simon and I did the egg collecting, tried to visit the wild ducks, but didn't see them, a barn visit then play on the porch in the shade and hot breezes. Tractor man arrived to put the hay wagons in the barn, then scramble off to get fiona at camp (another happy camper)
Dinner, haying, farm animal good nights, install the air conditioners and now it's quiet
and on to tomorrow's busy schedule.

woolley wondercamp
Simon and Chloe are enjoying a super summer week at woolley wondercamp
the camp just for relatives with lots of fun smooshed into our busy schedule
So, not only do they get to enjoy chores at the farm, but the kids get to help with our variety of volunteer duties. Smiles most of the time - just those tired tears before nap for a few moments from Chloe. Otherwise it's laughter, screaming, manners, toilet lids down, (now if all the boys could learn this one eh?) sharing, board games (the fave is currently a 70's fave called cat and mouse) Good sleeps so far with bathroom breaks in the night alone (we didn't even hear a peep)
No blood, bruises, sticks in the eye - not a sporting place apparently
Fiona's off to Hope Valley day camp in the morning
Hay arrives in bales in the barn later in the AM.
may go for lake swims again before nap time. Have a radio interview to prep for on Tuesday at 8:10 .... listen at lifeonline.fm if you like
then camp again for Fiona and fun for me and the cuz's

Canada Day in Banff
Happy 143 Canada in Campbelford
The Moppet band got together for a one hour concert along the canal in Campbelford.
Fiona and Maddy (karen woolley and karen taylor's daughters) sang back up
with Karen T on Banjo and Fiddle, Mike on Guitar (same as on my CD), Brian on keyboards and me singing up a storm.
The weather was coolish and the wind died down just before we went on.
The crowd wasn't too big, but we weren't there as the draw - just to sing and play.
Wrigley's gave us hundreds of packs of skittles and we couldn't give em all away. Guess we'll have to find other ways to do so as July moves along
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Nana Arlene!
